Waxing in our Colchester Beauty Salon Our Waxing Procedure We use a unique wax system using wax tubes & individual dispensing heads. The wax is applied thinly and evenly over the skin ensuring every hair is covered but not overly saturated. To get the best results, the hair to be waxed needs to be a minimum of 1/4 cm in length. The wax will stick to the hair and it will be removed cleanly from the follicle leaving the area silky and smooth. •We apply a Tea Tree antiseptic wash to prepare the area to be waxed, this will leave the skin clean and free of surface bacteria. •Each client has a new wax dispenser head which is individually wrapped and opened in front of the client. •The unique dispenser system will ease the application of wax allowing it to be spread thinly and easily, without dragging the skin. •Only the wax that is released from the dispenser comes into direct contact with the skin. •Large areas can be covered in one application then removed in the normal way with either a paper or fabric strip. This reduces the time taken for waxing and the need to reapply, thus reducing sensitivity. Salon after-wax treatment: The following treatments will be applied to the waxed areas after waxing to soothe and calm the waxed areas. Hand & Body Lotion - legs, arms, bikini areas, underarms, backs, chests and any other body area. Active Face Cream - any facial waxing, and more sensitive areas bikini line or underarm. Home Care Advice: All clients are given homecare instructions. We recommend use of the above products to ensure the skin remains smooth and healthy and for the prevention of ingrown hairs. • Do apply Hand & Body Lotion or Active Face Cream to treated areas during the next 24 hours following treatment. • If your skin feels hot after treatment, bathe with cold salt water solution regularly in the hours following treatment, this reduces inflammation and speeds up the healing process. • Wear loose clothing directly after waxing for 24 hours. • Do Not expose the skin to sun, sunlight or sunbeds for 48 hours. • Do Not use a steamroom, sauna or any heat treatment for 48 hours. • Do Not have a HOT bath or shower for 24 hours. • Do Not swim in chlorinated water for 24 hours. • Do Not apply any heat or friction to the skin for 24 hours. • Do Not apply any moisturisers or body lotions, other than those recommended above by yourtherapist for 24 hours. • Do Not apply body sprays or deodorants or perfume to the waxed areas for 24 hours. • Do Not apply talc, make up or false tan to the waxed areas for 24 hours. • Do Not wear tights, leggings, or tight fitting clothing for 24 hours. • Do Not – massage the area for 24 hours. Please allow at least 4 weeks before your next treatment. Please be aware that immediately after treatment, the area may be red or slightly inflamed so do bare this in mind if you are planning to go some where special! ![]() |
